6. How many dogs have you "owned"?
5 dogs
7. What breeds are you most familiar working with?
I have worked with a wide range of breeds, and enjoy working with all kinds of dogs - large or small.
8. Do you have any formal dog training qualification? What are they? If not, why do you feel that you are a competent dog trainer?

I am one of New Zealand's most qualified animal behaviour consultants. I have a PhD in dog behaviour and training, and over a decade of practical experience helping people with their animals.

I also have a Masters degree on the topic of conservation dogs, and I trained New Zealand's only tuatara detection dog. I teach university level animal behaviour courses, including clinical animal behaviour.

I keep up to date on the most-recent science-based dog behaviour information by attending and presenting at international conferences, so you can be assured that you're getting quality advice. My expertise on dog-human communication means that I can teach you how to better understand your pet.

9. How many dogs have you trained? (approx.)
100s
10. How many years have you been in business?
10+
11. Do you work closely with a veterinarian and get referrals from them? Yes
12. What experiences do you have with dogs? (ie. obedience, agility, work at SPCA etc)

I have been working with clients and their dogs for over 10 years, helping with a wide range of behavioural and training issues.

I do a lot of voluntary work in my community, including running free dog owner education seminars, behavioural work at a local dog club, and helping with a Puppies in Prison programme. I have worked with the Hamilton City Council, Waikato SPCA, and local dog businesses in advisory and educational capacities.

I have spoken about dog behaviour at conferences around the world. I also have experience working with improving inter-species relationships (e.g., dogs and cats, rabbits, chickens).

13. What are your favourite dog books?
Books by Dr Patricia McConnell, Sophia Yin, and Dr Ian Dunbar are some examples of great, science-based resources.
14. Is there anything else we should know about you and your dog training business?

I understand that you want the best possible support with your pet's behaviour. Anyone can call themselves an animal behaviourist in New Zealand; and there is just so much dog training information out there, it is hard to tell fact from fiction.

Browne Dog is a name you can trust. I am highly qualified, experienced, and offer a personalised approach for each animal based on modern and humane training methods. With Browne Dog, you can be assured that you are getting professional help from an expert who understands how important your pet is to you.
